Federal Government Launches Investigation into Corruption Allegations Against Chief of Naval Staff

The Federal Government has initiated an investigation into corruption allegations levelled against the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla.
The accusations suggest his involvement in providing security for oil thieves and allegedly receiving substantial sums in return, contrary to the government’s proclaimed efforts against oil theft.

Minister of State for Defense, Muhammed Bello Matawalle, emphasised the administration’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accountability within the Nigerian Armed Forces. He asserted President Bola Tinubu’s zero tolerance for corruption in the public service and called for a thorough and impartial investigation to uncover the truth behind the allegations.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Information’s Director of Press, Mr. Henshaw Ogubike, Minister Muhammed Bello Matawalle acknowledged the seriousness of the accusations against Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla. While recognising the role of the media in promoting transparency and holding public figures accountable, he urged responsible journalism that adheres to fairness, objectivity, and accuracy.
