Designed as both a content development consultancy and a professional training facility, BLACKBox aims to nurture Africa’s next generation of storytellers while providing strategic support for established creators. The hub will focus on diverse forms of storytelling, including television, film, documentaries, and branded content.
With state-of-the-art facilities and a flexible layout, the space can accommodate up to 50 participants for immersive workshops. It also features breakout areas, meeting rooms, and roundtable spaces, all tailored to encourage creativity, collaboration, and idea exchange.
“BLACKBox is more than just a space—it’s an ecosystem for shaping compelling African stories with global impact,” said Odugbemi at the launch. “We want to support creators not just in storytelling craft, but in developing, structuring, and delivering content that is authentic, innovative, and commercially viable.”
Training, Consultancy, and Industry Access
BLACKBox will offer consultancy services for project development, helping content creators take their ideas from concept to screen. Its programs will include masterclasses, training intensives, and mentorship opportunities in areas such as scriptwriting, production design, directing, and audience engagement.
In a strategic move, Odugbemi’s acclaimed production company, Zuri24 Media—producers of hit TV series Battleground, Brethren, Covenant, and films like Gidi Blues and The Man Died—will now operate from the BLACKBox premises. This co-location creates a unique environment where learning is paired with real-time, hands-on industry experience.
Boosting Nigeria’s Creative Economy
By merging consultancy, training, and active production under one roof, BLACKBox is poised to become a significant driver in Nigeria’s creative economy. It offers not just technical skill-building, but also strategic guidance to ensure African stories reach both local and global audiences.
