FG Moves to Finalise 2026–2030 Development Plan, Targets $1 Trillion Economy
The Honourable Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, has officially declared open a three-day workshop aimed at finalising Nigeria’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) 2026–2030.
The workshop, which brings together Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), marks a significant step in shaping the country’s roadmap for sustainable growth, economic resilience, and inclusive development.
Speaking at the opening session, the Minister described the engagement as critical to Nigeria’s long-term economic transformation, noting that the MTNDP would serve as a strategic framework to guide national planning and implementation over the next five years.
She emphasised that as Nigeria works toward its ambition of becoming a $1 trillion economy, the role of MDAs remains central to driving policy execution and delivering measurable results.
Uzoka-Anite commended participants and development partners, particularly UNICEF Nigeria, for their dedication and contributions to the planning process.
She stressed the need for collaboration, innovation, and a forward-thinking approach in developing a plan that reflects Nigeria’s realities, addresses key challenges, and unlocks opportunities for citizens.
According to her, the success of the MTNDP will depend on the collective commitment of all stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and impactful outcomes.
The workshop is expected to produce a comprehensive and actionable development framework that will guide Nigeria’s economic direction from 2026 to 2030.
