The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and the Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform Committee. Deliberations focused on advancing critical reforms aimed at improving public finance management and driving sustainable economic growth.

Central to discussions was revenue mobilisation, with participants reviewing progress on ongoing tax reforms and efforts to modernise customs administration to enhance efficiency and transparency. The committee also examined accountability measures, particularly strategies to safeguard oil and gas revenues and ensure that national resources are fully captured and properly managed.

In addition, the Steering Committee evaluated results-based progress under the programme, assessing Disbursement-Linked Results (DLRs) and adjusting baselines to maintain ambitious yet achievable reform targets.

Dr. Uzoka-Anite noted that the reforms under the PforR programme go beyond policy formulation, describing them as a blueprint for building a stronger and more resilient fiscal framework. She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that the outcomes of the reforms translate into measurable economic benefits and shared prosperity for Nigerians.
