Fintiri Approves Demolition of Dilapidated Doctors’ Quarters, Plans 48 New Housing Units in Yola
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has ordered the demolition of the dilapidated doctors’ quarters at Specialist Hospital Yola to pave the way for the construction of 48 modern residential units for doctors, house officers and other healthcare workers.
The Governor gave the directive after inspecting the existing residential facilities at the hospital, where he assessed their condition and the need for improved accommodation for medical personnel.
The proposed housing project forms part of Fintiri’s broader efforts to reposition Specialist Hospital Yola as a modern and reputable healthcare institution while improving the welfare, working conditions and living environment of healthcare professionals.
The new residential units are expected to provide better accommodation for medical workers and contribute to improved staff welfare and retention at the hospital.
Construction is expected to commence shortly, with the project targeted for completion within seven to eight months.
The development is part of the state government’s wider investment in the healthcare sector, aimed at strengthening medical infrastructure and creating a more conducive environment for healthcare workers to deliver quality services to residents.
