Fresh Abuja Kidnapping: Seven Taken as Terrorists Hit Community After Tinubu’s Emergency Move

Barely hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a state of emergency on Nigeria’s security training institutions, terrorists launched a fresh attack on an Abuja community, abducting seven residents in a late-night raid.

The attackers invaded the area around midnight, shooting sporadically and forcing their way into several homes before whisking away victims, including women and young adults. Residents said the gunmen operated for several minutes without resistance, creating panic across the community.

Local vigilantes were unable to repel the attackers due to what they described as “superior firepower.” Families of the abducted persons have been left in distress as security agencies begin tracking the criminals.

The incident has intensified public concern over rising insecurity, especially coming on the same day the President announced sweeping reforms aimed at overhauling security training, intelligence coordination, and modern counter-crime strategies.

Authorities say a manhunt is underway, and further updates will be provided as rescue operations continue.
