General Buratai to Chair Prestigious OurNigeria Magazine Awards in Abuja

The highly esteemed OurNigeria Magazine is set to host its 2023 awards ceremony at the renowned Abuja International Conference Centre on November 12, 2023. The prestigious event will be chaired by Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff and the immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to the Benin Republic, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd).
OurNigeria Magazine, a leading Nigerian Nation-Building Magazine, has been a staunch advocate of recognizing organizations and individuals who display exceptional patriotism and dedication to the collective cause of Project Nigeria. The awards serve as a means of encouraging further contributions to the well-being of the Nigerian people. The theme for this year’s awards is “Providing a Podium for the Unsung Heroes.”
The event is expected to draw the crème de la crème of Nigerian society and members of the diplomatic community, creating an atmosphere of grandeur and prestige. These awards represent the highest and most prestigious honors presented by the magazine.
The decision to have Buratai chair this illustrious occasion is a tribute to his heroic efforts, unwavering patriotism, and significant contributions to nation-building and humanitarian endeavors. General Buratai has earned over 32 titles across Nigeria, reflecting his remarkable humanitarian services, outstanding roles in counter-terrorism and insurgency in the North-east, and his impactful contributions to the nation’s development, peace, security, and infrastructure, both during his active service and in retirement.
Among the titles bestowed upon General Buratai are the Jagunmolu of Saki Kingdom (the Benevolent Warrior) by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Doctor) Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, the Okere of Saki Kingdom, Sadaukin Jajere by Alhaji Mai Hamza Buba Ibn Isah Mashio, the Emir of Jajere Yobe State, BAAKORE of Akure Kingdom in the Ondo State capital, bestowed upon him by His Royal Highness, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi CFR, the Odundun II, and the latest, the BETARA of Biu Emirate, presented by His Royal Highness, Emir of Biu, Alhaji Dr. Mustafa Umar Mustafa II CON.
Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, is expected to grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, while the Royal father of the Day will be the Emir of Keffi, Nasarawa State, HRH Alhaji Shehu Yamusa III.
