GOC 2 Division Strengthens Civil-Military Relations with BOVAS Chairman
In a move to reinforce and enhance the longstanding relationship between the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army and BOVAS, Major General Bamidele Alabi, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), paid a courtesy visit to BOVAS and Company Limited’s Chairman, Architect Olusegun Sampson.

The visit took place at the company’s headquarters in Bodija housing corporation estate, Secretariat Road, Ibadan, Oyo state.
Expressing gratitude, Major General Alabi pledged to build upon the positive rapport between the 2 Division and BOVAS, acknowledging the company’s significant support, particularly in sustaining the activities of the Tiger Golf Club. “Golf is a means of socialising within the Barrack community, so we encourage the Chairman and his staff to utilise the Tiger Golf Course for physical and mental well-being.”
Major General Alabi emphasised the Tiger Golf Club’s role as a facility that enables 2 Division to engage with the general public, expressing satisfaction with the enduring partnership facilitated by BOVAS’ support. He expressed hopes for an even more prosperous relationship in the future.
Acknowledging the visit, Chairman Olusegun Sampson commended Major General Alabi for taking the time to visit amidst his busy schedule. He noted the significance of building stronger relationships, especially in the face of current challenges confronting the nation.
Sampson revealed that his awareness of the Golf Club came through his son, prompting BOVAS to support the Club as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
Mr. Sampson also lauded Major General Alabi for opening the Barrack’s Golf facilities to the civilian populace, foreseeing that this gesture would foster effective civil-military relations.
