Gombe APC Women Rally Support for Tinubu, Party Candidates

Women of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Gombe State’s 11 local government areas and 13 Local Council Development Areas have rallied support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The women converged on Gombe, the state capital, for the Women’s Unity and Progress Summit, convened by Hajiya Zainab Jamilu Gwamna, wife of the APC governorship candidate.
The summit, themed “Stronger Voices, United Women, Greater Impact,” focused on women’s political participation, mentorship and collective action.
Mrs Gwamna urged women to stop seeing one another as rivals and instead build networks that would create opportunities for more women, particularly younger generations.
“Your voice matters. Your ideas matter. Your dignity matters. Your future matters,” she told participants.
She said women should measure success not only by personal achievements but also by the number of people they help to rise.
Speaking at the summit, Hajiya Asmau Inuwa Yahaya, the Gombe State First Lady, urged women to remain united and support one another in advancing issues that affect women, families and communities across the state.
She said women could achieve greater impact when they worked together, shared opportunities and supported younger generations, stressing the need for stronger networks that would enable women to contribute meaningfully to community development.
According to her, greater unity among women would strengthen their voice and influence, particularly at a time when women are increasingly becoming an important constituency in Gombe’s political and social landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also speaking, Hajiya Hauwa Liman, Technical Adviser to the Vice President on Women, Youth Engagement and Impact, called for stronger mentorship among women.
“Your success is not complete if it ends with you,” Mrs Liman said, urging participants to support, mentor and create opportunities for other women.
The participants expressed confidence in their numerical strength and pledged to mobilise support for APC candidates at the grassroots.
The summit also featured empowerment activities, with participants receiving gifts from the organisers as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.
