Gombe govt orders relocation of GSTC Tula to permanent site

Gombe State Government has directed the immediate relocation of Government Science Technical College (GSTC), Tula to its permanent site.

Mr Dauda Batari, the state Commissioner for Education, stated this in a statement by Saidu Malala, the  Information Officer of the ministry, on Friday in Gombe.

The statement said that the commissioner gave the order when he inspected facilities at the permanent site of the school on Friday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that GSTC Tula is a boarding school that has been operating from a temporary site for the past 20 years.

The permanent site constructed by the previous administration was not utilised by the school management in the past years.

Batari, however, said that the state government would repair some sections of the school vandalised by miscreants to make the environment habitable for students and staff.

He reiterated the commitment of the state government to reinvigorate the education sector for the benefit of the citizenry.

Meanwhile, the commissioner paid similar to the Government Girls Secondary School, Tula, to monitor the level of resumption for the commencement of the 2021/22 academic session.

Batari admonished the students to dedicate themselves to their studies to enhance academic excellence.

The statement also quoted the Principal of the school, Ms Aishatu Ismail, as commending the Commissioner for the visit.

Ismail said that they would reciprocate the government gesture through dedication to duty and support the government’s drive towards transforming the education sector.
