Gov Buni Urges Ngazargamu Emirate to Unite Behind New Emir
Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, has urged the people of Ngazargamu Emirate to unite and support the newly appointed Emir, Alhaji Mahmud Ibn Mustapha, for a successful and peaceful reign.
The Governor made the call on Thursday when the new Emir and members of the emirate paid him a thank-you visit.
Governor Buni stressed that unity and peace were essential for the development and progress of the emirate, noting that meaningful development could only be achieved in a peaceful environment.
He described Ngazargamu Emirate as a historic centre of commerce and Islamic education, urging the people to preserve and build on the legacies of their forefathers.
“The Ngazargamu Emirate is renowned for commerce and Islamic education. It is your collective responsibility to sustain and improve these great legacies,” Governor Buni said.
He urged the people to give the new Emir their full support and cooperation to enable him to provide effective leadership and advance the development of the emirate.
Speaking on behalf of the emirate, the Waziri of Ngazargamu, Alhaji Baba Kankare, expressed appreciation to Governor Buni for approving the choice of the people in the selection of the new Emir.
“Your Excellency, you gave us our choice, the people’s will. We appreciate you so much and thank you very much,” the Waziri said.
The visit was part of activities following the emergence of the new Emir of Ngazargamu Emirate.
