Governor Buni Pledges Support for Enhanced Border Security

In a bid to bolster border security and combat trans-border crimes, His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security operatives in the state. Governor Buni made this pledge during a courtesy visit by Assistant Controller General of Immigration Zone C, Sunday James, at the Government House in Damaturu.
Governor Buni commended the efforts of security agencies in maintaining peace and security in the state, particularly in the face of insurgency and crime in the northeast region. He emphasised the importance of collaboration among security agencies and advocated for joint patrol exercises to prevent the infiltration of criminals across state borders. “I thereby urge security agencies to engage with traditional and community leaders to identify areas and individuals involved in criminal activities,” the governor admoniahed.
In response, Zonal Controller Sunday James expressed appreciation for Governor Buni’s unwavering support, attributing the success in combating insurgency and crime to the government’s commitment. He lauded the collaborative efforts between the government and security agencies, highlighting the positive impact on peace and security across Yobe State.
