Governor Uba Sani Hosts Inaugural APC North West Stakeholders Meeting

Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, hosted and chaired the inaugural APC North West Stakeholders meeting today at the Yar’Adua Conference Hall, Murtala Square, Kaduna. As the Coordinating Governor of the North West Zone, Governor Sani led the discussions focusing on strengthening the party’s structure in the region and resolving internal disputes.
The meeting addressed the state of the APC in the North West, activated its internal dispute resolution mechanism, and charted a path towards a more formidable zonal structure to secure future electoral victories. The stakeholders commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and noted the significant steps he has taken to tackle Nigeria’s security and developmental challenges. The reforms initiated by the President to reflate the economy and combat inflation were also acknowledged.
Stakeholders observed that President Tinubu’s Development Agenda has positively impacted the North West Zone, particularly in areas such as human capital development, agriculture, education, poverty alleviation, and infrastructural development. They emphasized the need for continued support and intervention from the President to address the region’s developmental challenges.
The meeting lauded President Tinubu for his commitment to the speedy completion of key projects in the North West, including the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Road Project, the Sokoto-Zamfara-Katsina-Kaduna Road Project, the Kano-Katsina Dual Carriageway, the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline, and the Lagos-Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi Rail Project. These projects are expected to boost economic activities, reduce poverty, enhance security, and foster unity among Nigerians.
In recognition of President Tinubu’s unwavering support for the North West, stakeholders called for continued backing of his administration as he addresses the nation’s challenges with courage and commitment. The meeting also commended the security agencies for their tireless efforts in maintaining and enhancing security in the zone.
Additionally, the stakeholders praised the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, and other legislators for their efforts in pursuing the passage of the North West Development Commission Bill. They urged the National Assembly to expedite the bill’s passage to promote national cohesion and balanced development.
The meeting called on political leaders from the North West to intensify their efforts to enhance the region’s political fortunes and maintain its dominance in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Prominent attendees included APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dr. Tajudeen Abbas, Governors Dikko Radda (Katsina State), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto State), Nasiru Idris (Kebbi State), Umar Namadi (Jigawa State), former Kaduna State Governor Ramalan Yero, and former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari. Other key figures included the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, Minister of Environment, Balarabe Lawal Abbas, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, and several other ministers and advisers.
