Hijaab: Kwara gov’t orders teachers, pupils to stay at home
As 10 schools remains closed
The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has directed teachers and schoolchildren at the 10 government schools where the use of hijab was disputed to remain at home until the contrary is announced.
A statement by the Permanent Secretary (PS), Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, announced that decision to shut the schools was for safety reasons.
The PS stated that the government is committed to fairness, pluralism, and respect for the law and rights of every citizen.
Adeosun listed the schools affected as C&S College Sabo Oke, ST. Anthony College, Offa Road, ECWA School, Oja Iya, Surulere Baptist Secondary School, Bishop Smith Secondary School, Agba Dam, CAC Secondary School Asa Dam road, St. Barnabas Secondary School Sabo Oke, St. John School Maraba, St. Williams Secondary School Taiwo Isale, and St. James Secondary School Maraba.
