The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday presented certificates of return to its candidates ahead of the 2026 Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory, with Hon. Loveth Izekor, the councilorship candidate for City Centre Ward, among the recipients.
Hon. Izekor was presented with the certificate alongside 62 other ward councillorship candidates and six Area Council Chairmanship candidates at the PDP FCT State Office in Wuse, Abuja.
Speaking after receiving her certificate, Hon. Izekor, the only female PDP candidate contesting in the upcoming FCT local elections, expressed deep appreciation to God, the party leadership, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC). She reaffirmed her loyalty and commitment to the ideals and vision of the PDP.
“As we look ahead to the 2026 Area Council elections, I humbly seek the continued cooperation and unwavering support of party members and the good people of City Centre Ward,” she said.
Describing the occasion as a significant milestone, Izekor noted that the certificate symbolizes not just recognition, but a call to service rooted in dedication, sacrifice, and resilience. Supporters have hailed her as a symbol of hope and grassroots development, citing her track record of compassion, accessibility, and community engagement.
Hon. Izekor pledged to run an inclusive and people-oriented campaign, promising to deliver the dividends of democracy if elected.
The presentation ceremony marks the beginning of intensified political activities by the PDP in preparation for the 2026 polls across the six area councils of the FCT.
