The campaign, organised by the Eagle Crime Awareness and Prevention Initiative (ECAPI), brought together representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Department of State Services (DSS), and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

The initiative aimed to sensitise residents on the dangers of crime and highlight the importance of collective action in ensuring community safety.

Participants converged at the Area G Command Headquarters in Ogba before embarking on a road walk through key locations, including Ogba Market, Agege Under Bridge, and Ishaga Roundabout, engaging residents and traders along the route.

Speaking during the exercise, ICPC representative, Oluwaseyi Ade-Adams, emphasised that tackling corruption and crime requires a “whole-of-society” approach. She urged citizens to play an active role in promoting integrity and reporting unlawful activities.

Ade-Adams described the awareness campaign as a critical platform for educating the public—particularly young people—on responsible behaviour and the need to resist criminal activities. She also reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to working with stakeholders and community groups to promote transparency and accountability.

Organisers noted that the campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and social vices at the grassroots level, while empowering youths to become agents of positive change within their communities.

Participants carried placards with anti-crime messages throughout the walk, reinforcing the message that crime prevention is a shared responsibility.

The event concluded with a call for sustained collaboration among government agencies, civil society organisations, and the public in building a safer and crime-free society.
