Insecurity: Army Commander charges troops on robust operations
Major General Markus Kangye, Corps Commander Artillery (CCA), has charged Nigerian Army personnel that there is no acceptable reason for not putting a stop to terrorism, kidnapping, and other crimes in the country for the sake of the people’s overall well-being.
This was said by the Artillery Commander during a familiarisation tour to the Headquarters of 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Barracks in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.
He charged the troops with upholding the rule of law, remaining loyal, and upholding military discipline and professionalism at all times.
He further told the troops and the officers that the Chief Of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, placed a high premium on the welfare of troops and had therefore proposed an affordable housing scheme programme for soldiers to boost their morale as well as to ensure they maintain a high standard of fighting efficiency in all operations in order to get rid of all criminal elements in the country.

He also admonished them to shun all forms of unprofessional conduct and fraternization with unauthorized persons that would bring unrest in society.
In his words “As soldiers of Artillery, who are known for discipline, effective training, and provision of the needed firepower support to all Nigerian Army operations, you need to be disciplined, which is among the core values of the Nigerian Army.
“Shun all forms of unprofessional conducts, fraternizing with unauthorized persons, especially during operations, that will bring unrest in the society and key into the command philosophy of the COAS, which is to transform the Nigeria Army into a well-trained, Equipped, and Highly Motivated Force Towards Achieving our Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint Environment”.
General Kangye also urged troops to actively participate in all levels of training in order to improve professionalism.
Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu, commander of the 35 Artillery Brigade, hailed the CCA.
Among those accompanying the CCA were the Acting Deputy Chief of Staff Training and Operations Headquarters NACA, Lt Col KI Babakura, and the Commanding Officer, Medical Inspection Room, NACA, Lt Col FM Okolo.
