Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo Conducts Surprise Assessment Visit to NSCDC FCT Command, Federal Fire Service
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Thursday paid an unscheduled visit to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command and the Federal Fire Service Station in Wuse Zone 3, Abuja.
The surprise visit was aimed at conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the facilities, personnel preparedness, and overall operational readiness of the agencies, especially in responding to emergencies that may arise without notice.
Tunji-Ojo noted that the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as reiterated in his national address on Wednesday, is clear—every arm of government must work collectively to secure the nation.
According to him, “Security is life, and Mr. President is trusting our officers to deliver on internal security and the protection of critical national assets. As Minister of Interior, I believe they will deliver so that we can all be proud of Nigeria and call this country home.”

He further emphasized that his visits to paramilitary formations nationwide will continue to be unscheduled, as he prefers to see situations exactly as they are.
“For me, I want to see the kind of service Nigerians are receiving across all our agencies. A good service is not good enough for Nigerians—the best is what they deserve,” the Minister said.
Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening internal security operations and enhancing the efficiency of all paramilitary agencies under its supervision.
