Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Launch Missile Attacks on US Bases Across Gulf Region
Several United States military bases in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain have come under missile attack by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a significant escalation of regional tensions on Friday and Saturday, February 2026, according to Iranian and Gulf state reports.

Explosions and emergency alerts were reported across key Gulf cities as air-defence systems were activated in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the UAE. Bahrain confirmed that a facility linked to the **United States Navy Fifth Fleet in Manama was struck in a missile attack, and smoke was seen rising in the city. Qatar’s defence ministry said at least one Iranian missile was intercepted near its territory.
Residents in Abu Dhabi and Doha reported loud explosions, and some Gulf countries temporarily closed their airspace as a precaution. In the UAE, several missiles were intercepted, but falling shrapnel caused material damage and at least one civilian fatality was reported.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said the strikes targeted American military installations as part of a wider operation in response to recent US and allied actions in the region. The IRGC statement confirmed that missiles and drones struck the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, as well as US bases in Qatar and the UAE.
The unfolding situation marks a major escalation in Middle East tensions, with international concern rising as military activity spreads across multiple countries hosting US forces. Airspace restrictions and heightened defence readiness reflect the risks of further confrontation.
