Popular YouTuber and livestreamer IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., is facing a $1 million lawsuit following an alleged violent incident involving a viral humanoid robot known as Rizzbot.

The lawsuit was filed by Social Robotics, LLC, the company behind Rizzbot, over an encounter that occurred during a livestreamed meetup in Austin, Texas, on September 16, 2025. According to court documents, what was intended to be a playful collaboration between two internet sensations escalated into physical aggression that allegedly left the robot permanently damaged.

Social Robotics claims that during the livestream, IShowSpeed repeatedly punched the robot, placed it in a chokehold, pinned it to a couch, and ultimately threw it to the ground. The company alleges that the incident was fully captured on camera, leaving little dispute over what transpired.

Court filings state that Rizzbot sustained extensive damage to its mouth, neck, head cameras, and sensor ports, rendering it unable to see, hear properly, or walk steadily. The company maintains that the damage was so severe that the robot has been effectively destroyed.

Beyond physical damage, the lawsuit cites significant financial and reputational losses. At the time of the incident, Rizzbot reportedly had over one million followers and more than 800 million views across social media platforms. The robot was also scheduled for high-profile appearances, including potential collaborations with MrBeast and a guest spot on The NFL Today on CBS, all of which were allegedly canceled following the incident.

Social Robotics described IShowSpeed’s actions as “intentional,” “reckless,” and carried out with disregard for the robot’s value and sophistication. In addition to IShowSpeed, the lawsuit names his management company, Mixed Management, and other producers present during the livestream, holding them jointly responsible.

The company is seeking $1 million in damages to cover repair or replacement costs, lost revenue, and punitive damages. The lawsuit also claims police were called after the incident, with a report noting that the damage occurred without the owner’s consent. Attempts to resolve the matter privately reportedly failed, prompting legal action.

As of the time of filing, IShowSpeed and his management team have not issued a public response. No court date has been announced, and the case remains in its early stages.

The lawsuit has sparked widespread debate online about accountability, content creation boundaries, and how the law should treat robotic personalities that function as entertainers and influencers. Many observers say the case could set an important precedent as humanoid robots continue to blur the line between property, technology, and digital celebrity.
