The device, described as a next-generation hygiene solution, is designed to wash and dry a person in approximately 15 minutes. It uses advanced water jets, fine air bubbles, and integrated drying technology to complete the process within an enclosed pod.
According to the developers, built-in sensors monitor the user’s physical condition throughout the cycle, automatically adjusting water temperature and pressure to ensure safety and comfort. The system is also equipped with stress-detection features that analyze relaxation levels and project calming visuals inside the pod to enhance the overall experience.
The concept reflects Japan’s longstanding bathing culture and its global leadership in robotics and smart technology research. Company representatives say the innovation is aimed at promoting hygiene, wellness, and future smart living solutions.
Technology experts suggest the development could have far-reaching implications, particularly in elderly care facilities, hospitals, and even space travel, where efficient and compact hygiene systems are essential.
Expo 2025 Osaka is expected to provide a global platform for showcasing such cutting-edge technologies, positioning Japan at the forefront of futuristic lifestyle innovations.
