Jose Mourinho, the recently dismissed manager of Roma, has broken his silence following his emotional departure from the Roma training ground on Tuesday, as reported by The Sun.
Witnessed fighting back tears, Mourinho conveyed his gratitude to the passionate Roma fans through a heartfelt statement on Instagram. The manager shared a video montage showcasing his best moments during his tenure and wrote in Italian, “Sweat, blood, tears, joy, sadness, love, brothers, history, heart, eternity.”
The comments section of the post was flooded with expressions of appreciation from Roma supporters for Mourinho’s contribution to the team.
In his debut season, Mourinho led Roma to victory in the inaugural Europa Conference League, and in the subsequent season, the team finished as runner-up in the Europa League.
The official statement announcing Mourinho’s departure was released on the football club’s website on Tuesday. According to the statement, Mourinho and his coaching staff will depart from the club with immediate effect.
The statement read, “AS Roma can confirm that José Mourinho and his coaching staff will leave the club with immediate effect. We would like to thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club. We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club. We wish José and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours.”
