Kaduna Bombing: AANI warns Nigerians not to hastily advocate for sanctions against military

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of the recent tragic military bombing at Tudun Biri village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has cautioned the public against hastily advocating for sanctions against the military.
In a press statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of AANI, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd), on Tuesday, the association expressed its belief that the military could not have intentionally targeted innocent civilians, underlining the need for understanding while seeking accountability.
The association stressed the importance of avoiding actions that could demoralize the military and jeopardize their dedicated efforts against terrorism. Instead, AANI encouraged a balanced approach that seeks justice without undermining the morale of the armed forces.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by the military, AANI advocated for a comprehensive inquiry into the incident to prevent similar occurrences in the future, underscoring the importance of unity in the face of adversity and during these trying times in the nation.
The association called for continued support for the armed forces and security agencies, recognizing the immense sacrifices they make in the fight against terrorism, insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping, adding that maintaining unity and support for these forces would contribute significantly to enhancing the safety of civilians in conflict zones.
The association expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government, and the residents of Igabi Local Government Area (LGA) and Kaduna State.
AANI commended the concerted efforts of all stakeholders involved in responding to the incident, acknowledging the swift response of the government and emergency services in addressing the immediate aftermath.
The association also called for continued medical attention for the victims and the prompt evacuation of seriously injured individuals to advanced medical facilities.
Furthermore, AANI urged the government to consider compensating the victims, recognizing the importance of providing support during these challenging times.
