Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, has flagged off the construction of 11 strategic township roads across Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas under Phase II of the Kaduna State Urban Renewal and Rural Transformation Programme.

Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Uba Sani expressed gratitude to residents of Zaria and Sabon Gari for the warm reception accorded to his administration, describing the large turnout despite heavy rainfall as a demonstration of the people’s confidence in the government’s development agenda.

He said the projects reaffirm the administration’s commitment to equitable and inclusive development across all parts of Kaduna State.

The governor disclosed that the road projects, to be executed by Mothercat Limited and CGC Nigeria Limited, are expected to improve connectivity, facilitate the movement of people and goods, stimulate commerce, create economic opportunities and enhance the quality of life in the benefiting communities.

According to him, the projects form part of the government’s broader vision to connect communities to opportunities, restore public confidence and build a more prosperous, inclusive and united Kaduna State.

Governor Uba Sani also appreciated the support of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, former Kaduna State Governor Ramalan Yero, and other traditional rulers, political leaders and stakeholders whose presence underscored a shared commitment to the development of Zaria and Kaduna State.

Highlighting his administration’s achievements, the governor said that since assuming office on 29 May 2023, the state government has initiated 150 road projects covering more than 1,355 kilometres across the state’s 23 local government areas, with the majority already completed.

He noted that earlier in the year, the administration commissioned several completed roads in Zaria, including the Audi–Kako, Magajiya–Kasuwan Amaru, Dogon Bauchi–Lakiyeyi, and Hanwan Yan Goro roads.

Governor Uba Sani added that beyond road construction, his administration has continued to invest in critical sectors such as healthcare, education and agriculture to accelerate socio-economic development and improve the welfare of residents.
