Kaduna State Set to Commission Groundbreaking Lithium Processing Plant

In a significant stride towards bolstering its mining sector, Kaduna State stands on the brink of inaugurating a monumental Lithium Processing Plant, marking a pivotal partnership between the state government and Ming Xin Mineral Separation Nigeria Ltd.
The brainchild of sustained efforts spearheaded by Governor Uba Sani, the impending commissioning of the Lithium Processing Plant signifies a leap forward in the state’s quest to attract investments in the mining industry.
Scheduled to be unveiled soon, the state-of-the-art facility boasts an initial capacity of 1500 metric tonnes per day, marking Phase 1 of the ambitious project.
As plans unfold, Phase 2 promises to double the plant’s capacity, underscoring the long-term vision driving the collaboration between Kaduna State and Ming Xin Mineral Separation Nigeria Ltd.
In a recent meeting at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, the management team of the Chinese mining conglomerate, led by Executive Director of Business Development, Ms. Leana Lee, provided insights into the preparations for the plant’s commissioning.
This milestone reflects the culmination of meticulous planning and unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and development in Kaduna State.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Uba Sani emphasized the paramount importance of environmental sustainability and community engagement in the project’s implementation.
“We urge the Chinese firm to prioritize environmental protection and recovery to ensure the safety and well-being of those residing in the host community,” remarked Senator Sani.
He further underscored the significance of incorporating local content and robust corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs into the fabric of the project.
Echoing Senator Sani’s sentiments, stakeholders expressed optimism about the transformative impact of the Lithium Processing Plant on Kaduna State’s economic landscape. With a steadfast dedication to promoting investment-friendly policies, the state government aims to fortify investor confidence, stimulate job creation, and enhance internally generated revenue (IGR).
