Kebbi State Assembly impeaches Speaker, Deputy

The Kebbi State House of Assembly Speaker, Ismaila Abdulmumuni Kamba, and his deputy, Muhammad Buhari Aliro have been impeached.
The Acting Clerk of the House, Ibrahim Usman Ahmed Bunzu, announced the removal of the Speaker before the flow of the House in a 15-minute sitting while member representing Fakai Constituency, Lawal Haruna Gele, moved a motion for the impeachment of the Deputy Speaker.

Speaking to newsmen over the impeachment, Chairman, House Committee on Information and Culture, Mohammed Tukur, did not state the reason for the impeachment but said the House wanted to effect changes.
The former Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman House Committee on Religious Affairs, Mohammed Abubakar Lolo emerged as the new Speaker while the former Chairman, House Committee on Economic Planning and Due Process, Mohammed Usman, emerged as the Deputy Speaker.
