Kwankwaso Advises NNPP Supporters in Kano Government Amid APC Defection Pressure
The national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has advised his supporters serving in the Kano State Government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on how to respond to the growing political pressure linked to a return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kwankwaso disclosed that several political appointees and office holders had reached out to him, alleging that they were being compelled to choose between loyalty to the Kwankwasiyya movement and alignment with the Gandujiyya political bloc.
According to him, the reported pressure reflects ongoing political realignments within the state, as some actors attempt to influence officials to abandon the NNPP. He urged his supporters to remain calm, principled, and guided by their convictions, stressing the importance of discipline and unity within the party.
Kwankwaso reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya movement, noting that political loyalty should be based on ideology, service to the people, and respect for democratic choice rather than intimidation or coercion.
The development comes amid heightened political activities in Kano State, with speculations over possible defections and power struggles ahead of future electoral contests.
