Leaders of Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria Commend Gen Musa’s Leadership Amidst Kaduna Incident

In a significant diplomatic gesture, the leadership of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria, headed by Dr. Bashir Aliyu Umar, visited the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja today.

During the visit, General Musa addressed the recent Tudun-Biri incident in Kaduna, expressing deep regret over the unfortunate event. He assured the council of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to peace, pledging a thorough investigation to determine the cause and implementing lasting solutions to prevent future occurrences. General Musa declared, “We will do everything possible to get to the bottom and ensure it happens no more.”

Highlighting prevailing security challenges, particularly in the North West, the CDS urged leadership at all levels to combat criminality through purposeful leadership and developmental initiatives.

In response, Dr. Bashir commended General Musa for his people-centric leadership style and emphasised the importance of leaders understanding and addressing the challenges faced by the majority. He stated, “Leaders must not live in affluence when the majority live in abject poverty.”

Dr. Bashir acknowledged visible positive changes in the country’s security architecture under General Musa’s leadership. He expressed gratitude for the CDS’s commitment to addressing the Tudun Biri incident and praised his empathy towards the victims of the drone attack. The meeting concluded on a note of shared determination to collaborate in achieving national security and peace.
