Lecturer in Police Custody Over Alleged Murder of Wife

The Yobe State Police Command has apprehended Abubakar Musa, a lecturer at Yobe State University, Damaturu, in connection with the alleged brutal killing of his wife, Ammi Mamman.
DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Spokesman in the state, revealed this in a statement in Damaturu, stating that the incident occurred at New Bra-Bra Estate around 4:48 am on Thursday. Abdulkarim mentioned that the arrest followed a distress call indicating that Mamman and Musa were lying in the same bed when she was reportedly stabbed. “She was stabbed with an object on her neck, resulting in heavy bleeding and leading to her death,” the spokesman said. He further stated that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command was interrogating Musa, a member of the political science department, to unravel the circumstances surrounding Mamman’s death. Abdulkarim appealed to the community to provide credible information to assist the police in ensuring justice and preventing future occurrences.
The deceased, according to our findings, was also associated with the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences at the institution.
