Lenten/Ramadan: Hon Omirin greets Muslims, Christians, promises more democracy dividends

Member of the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Hon Sanya Omirin has reiterated his continuous efforts in transforming the entire Constituency.

Hon Omirin made this known in his Congratulatory Message to both the Muslims and Christians on Friday on the ongoing Ramadan and Lenten periods.

Hon Omirin who promised not to rest on his oars towards the betterment of the constituents said, Ramadan offers another opportunity for Muslims to rededicate themselves to the worship of Allah while stressing the importance of prayer for any Christians, fasting and charity in strengthening spiritual growth as well as fostering unity in the society.

The Federal Lawmaker who described Ramadan as an important pillar of Islam, said the fasting period humbles both the rich and the poor who are both expected to go without food between sunrise and sunset for the period of 30 days.

Hon Omirin who congratulated the Christians on the ongoing sacred Lenten season encouraged them to pray for the nation’s progress and use the period for deep reflection, repentance and renewed commitment to faith and good deeds.

Similarly, Hon Omirin noted that a true and committed Muslim is known during Ramadan urged the adherents of the Islamic faith to use the period for spiritual cleansing, healing and also to pray for the peace of Osun State in particular and Nigeria as a whole.

The Ijesa born politician admonished on adherents of various religions to love one another and live together in peace which entire Osun State is known for globally.

“As we are in both the Ramadan and Lenten periods, let us embrace the virtues of humility, self-discipline and love for one another.

“This season is a call to renew our faith and work towards a more peaceful and just society as I wish all Christians and Muslims a blessed season, just as I’m praying that your sacrifices and devotion would bring divine grace, strength as well as abundant blessings” Hon Omirin added.

Hon Omirin, however, urged Nigerians to uphold values that promote adequate peace, tolerance and collective development.
