Man declared wanted over girlfriend’s death
The Lagos State Police Command has issued an arrest warrant for Benjamin Nnanyereugo in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Augusta Osedion.
According to a statement released by the police on Tuesday by its spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, Nnanyereugo is suspected of murdering the 21-year-old lady on July 13, 2023, in his home at Oral Estate in the Ajah area of the state.
Hundeyin stated that the culprit was proclaimed wanted after fruitless arrest attempts.
The statement read in part, “Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted.
“The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently.

Meanwhile, Hundeyin said operatives of the Rapid Response Squad have arrested three suspected fraudsters in the Idumota area of the state while holding an uncooperative victim hostage.
The victim, a 23-year-old lady (name withheld), heading to Iyana Oworo from Gerard Road Ikoyi, boarded the suspects’ Volkswagen Vento Salon car with number plate BDG 513 EJ but was forcibly taken to Idumota.
While on the diversion, the three suspects, Austin Okoro, 47, ring leader, Godwin Asezour, 54, and Susan Elohor, 42, attempted to scam their victim by introducing her to their supposed money-doubling company.
The victim, on the other hand, spotted an RRS patrol team at Idumota and successfully raised the alarm to their hearing, resulting in the arrest of the offenders.
Following the end of the investigation by the CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi-led RRS, the suspects were charged in court.
