According to accounts shared online, the couple had been complying with all legal requirements and attending scheduled proceedings as part of her immigration process. During the visit, the woman was reportedly taken into another room by officials — and did not return.
Her husband said repeated phone calls went unanswered. Using location tracking, he followed her phone signal to the Broadview ICE facility, where it abruptly went offline. With no official explanation or notification, he rushed to the site in search of information.
Witnesses said police officers at the facility told him there was little they could do and advised him to look up her name online. He was later seen sitting alone in a nearby parking lot, visibly distressed, waiting for answers.
The incident has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread reaction and renewed attention to concerns about immigration detention practices. Many commenters say the story reflects the fear, uncertainty, and lack of transparency families often experience when loved ones are taken into custody without warning or clear communication.
As of the time of this report, ICE has not issued an official statement regarding the woman’s whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding her detention.
Advocates continue to call for greater transparency and due process protections, stressing the emotional toll such incidents take on families navigating the immigration system.
