The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Component and ground troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK have neutralised several Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the Parisu hideouts of Sambisa Forest in Borno State.
The terrorists were killed on December 5, 2023, when the NAF airstrike hits a logistic base of Boko Haram on the fringe of forest.
It was gathered that a precision-guided airstrike coordinated by the Air Component and the ground troops killed a high number of ISWAP terrorists.
A counter-insurgency expert, in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed, yesterday (Sunday), in Maiduguri that NAF fighter jet engaged the location in multiple passes, recording accurate hits on the logistics.
According to him, a large fuel dump of the terrorists triggered a massive explosion, destroying their hideout camp.
A military source in Maiduguri, stated that the airstrike operation was executed after a series of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, which led to the identification of the terrorists’ hideouts.
The source further revealed that movement of the terrorists were trailed to the location of the terrorists hiding under thick canopies of trees.“The structures housing the terrorists and their logistics; were also destroyed while the few surviving terrorists, who were seen attempting to flee were killed,” said Makama.
