Minister of Foreign Affairs Emphasises Significance of CDA and Consuls General Appointments for Nigeria’s Economic Growth

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has underscored the pivotal role of newly appointed Chargé D’affaires (CDAs) and Consuls General in driving Nigeria’s economic growth.

In a recent address, he urged them to serve as exemplary ambassadors of Nigeria, emphasising their crucial contribution to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic agenda.
Ambassador Tuggar urged the newly appointed diplomats, who are seasoned career professionals, to prioritise their diplomatic responsibilities over political affiliations. He emphasised the importance of their collective efforts in advancing Nigeria’s interests and development through effective diplomacy.
Responding on behalf of the newly appointed officials, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, the Consul General for the Consulate in New York, reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the principles of their profession. He pledged to leverage their positions to attract much-needed investments to Nigeria, expressing gratitude to President Tinubu and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their trust and confidence.
