MNJTF Strengthens Collaborative Efforts with Chadian Air Force for Enhanced Operations
In a strategic move to bolster its operations within the Lake Chad Basin, the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has initiated efforts to deepen collaboration with the Chadian Air Force.
This collaborative endeavour was highlighted during a recent courtesy visit by the Force Commander, Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, to the Chief of Air Staff of Chad, Lieutenant General Idriss Amine on February 21, 2024.
Expressing gratitude for the Chadian Air Force’s continuous support of the MNJTF’s mission, Major General Ali underscored the pivotal role air power plays in the multinational efforts. During the meeting, the Force Commander briefed General Amine on the MNJTF’s comprehensive range of operations, encompassing both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies aimed at stabilising the socio-security landscape of the Lake Chad region.
In response, Lieutenant General Amine assured Major General Ali of reinforced support to the MNJTF, acknowledging the historical cooperation between the Chadian Air Force and the MNJTF since its formation in 2015. Gen Amine expressed his commitment to further enhance this collaborative relationship and reassured Major General Ali that “the Chadian Air Force is prepared to intensify its operational support.”
The pursuit of synergy between the MNJTF and the Chadian Air Force marks a significant step in consolidating counterinsurgency and stabilisation efforts within the Lake Chad Basin. Recognising the region’s complex security challenges exacerbated by insurgent activities, the collaborative pooling of aerial capabilities becomes paramount.
This strategic partnership signifies a united effort to decisively counter insurgent operations, ultimately promoting peace and security for the communities affected.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Chief of Military Public Information, commended this collaborative initiative, emphasising its potential to make a decisive impact in addressing the security challenges in the Lake Chad region.
