MNJTF Troops Neutralize Three Boko Haram Terrorists in Border Operations

Troops belonging to Sector 1 of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), stationed in Mora, Cameroon, have successfully neutralized three Boko Haram terrorists in separate operations conducted at Zigue and Soueram.

This announcement was made by Lt.-Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief of Military Public Information, in a statement released in Maiduguri on Wednesday.

According to Abdullahi, the first engagement took place in the Cameroon border community of Zigue on April 14, where MNJTF troops executed an ambush leading to the elimination of one terrorist.

Subsequently, on April 15, troops encountered and neutralized two additional Boko Haram terrorists during an early morning operation near the Cameroon-Nigeria border in Soueram.

As a result of these operations, the MNJTF recovered significant weaponry, including one PKM Machine Gun, one AK-47 rifle, five magazines, and 20 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

Lt.-Col. Abdullahi expressed gratitude for the support and valuable information provided by local communities, which have greatly contributed to the success of MNJTF operations.

He emphasized the importance of continued and increased community support in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad basin region.

The MNJTF reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the region, emphasizing the collective determination to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the area.
