Mustapha Lamorde Joins NUPRC Board, Strengthens Regulatory Synergy in Oil Sector
Engr. Mustapha Lamorde, Executive Director, Health, Safety, Environment and Community, has been inaugurated as a member of the board of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), representing the Authority.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who formally constituted the board in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act.
The board is chaired by Magnus Abe, with Lamorde’s appointment expected to reinforce collaboration across Nigeria’s oil and gas regulatory institutions.
Officials said his inclusion underscores ongoing efforts to ensure alignment between upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, particularly in the implementation of industry reforms.
Lamorde’s role on the board is also expected to enhance policy coordination, strengthen regulatory synergy, and improve oversight within the sector.
The inauguration marks a significant step in consolidating governance structures and boosting efficiency in Nigeria’s upstream petroleum industry.
