The wife of the Commander of the 8 Division Garrison, Mrs. Anne Omoh Tawasimi, represented the NAOWA Chairperson, who stressed that the focus of this year’s campaign is the significance of timely mammograms and routine self-examinations.

She claims that early detection leads to higher treatment success rates. She therefore expressed her gratitude to Maj. Gen. Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding of 8 Division, who served as the program’s Special Guest of Honour, for giving the essential assistance that enabled the occasion to succeed.

The Global Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative seeks to advance early detection, systems of support, and education.

It also emphasized educating people about symptoms, screening techniques, risk factors, and available treatments.

During the campaign, a few special guests gave lectures emphasizing that early disease identification is crucial for the prevention of breast cancer and that the condition is not always fatal. As part of their recommendations to lower the incidence of breast cancer, they suggested vaccination, exercise, a balanced diet, and self-breast examination, particularly for those over 40.
