NAPTIP DG Participates in Federal Ministry of Justice 2026 Sector Retreat on Performance Management
The Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Binta Adamu Bello, OON, joined other heads of agency today at the Federal Ministry of Justice’s 2026 Sector Retreat, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Hall, Abuja. The retreat, themed “Streamlining the Ministry’s Performance Management System Cycle in Alignment with the Presidential Priorities and Sector-Specific Deliverables”, aimed to enhance efficiency and accountability across the justice sector.
In her welcome remarks, the Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba, highlighted the Ministry’s goal of creating a roadmap with practical, measurable steps to strengthen justice administration while aligning with executive priorities.
Speaking at the event, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, described the retreat as a “strategic convergence of minds” focused on optimizing the justice sector’s impact and service delivery. He emphasized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and its priorities of good governance, economic transformation, and rule of law.
Prince Fagbemi said, “The justice sector is strategically positioned to advance these priorities under the 8th Presidential Priority, improving governance for effective service delivery. Our 2026 Performance Management Cycle must focus on tangible outcomes, particularly in reducing case backlogs and ensuring legal frameworks support ease of doing business.”
He further stressed the importance of citizen-centric service delivery, noting that policies and reforms must aim to improve the lives of Nigerians through accessible engagement channels and transparent performance reporting.
The retreat brought together directors and key officials from all agencies under the Ministry, marking a collaborative effort to recalibrate the machinery of justice for maximum efficiency and accountability.
