Nasarawa: Unknown gunmen shoot 3 poly students, kidnap one
The Nasarawa State Police Command announced yesterday that three students from the ISA Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic in the heart of the state capital, Lafia, were shot by gunmen suspected of being kidnappers.
The command also confirmed the kidnapping of a female polytechnic student.
According to the Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, the female polytechnic student was abducted during a robbery.
According to reports, the three students shot are receiving treatment in a state-owned specialty hospital and are claimed to be in stable condition, while the abducted student, simply identified as Ajomuke, is an ND ll student at the institution’s Department of Science Laboratory Technology.

Freedom Luka, HND l Public Administration; Ogwuche Janet, HND II Business Administration; and Danlandi Nicholas, Management Department, were among the male students killed during the raid.
One of the female students who narrowly avoided the robbery attack, who did not want her name publicized, stated that she was going home when they heard sporadic firing ahead of them, forcing them to do a U-turn and hide at the home of one of their colleagues.
She urged security services to increase surveillance surrounding the university to prevent further attacks on students and other citizens in the region.
