The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Khalil Halilu, has said Nigeria cannot achieve meaningful industrialisation if it continues to depend on imported high-precision components for critical sectors.

Halilu stated that the agency established the Centre of Excellence for Precision Manufacturing under the Renewed Hope Agenda to strengthen local manufacturing capacity and advance Nigeria’s industrial development.

According to him, the centre is designed to support the production of world-class precision components for key sectors, including aerospace, automotive, energy, defence and healthcare.

He made the remarks while receiving the Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Tanimu Yakubu, during a visit to the facility.

Halilu said the visit provided an opportunity to showcase the progress being made by NASENI in promoting advanced manufacturing and reducing the country’s reliance on imported industrial components.

He thanked the Director-General for his visit and continued support for initiatives aimed at accelerating Nigeria’s industrial growth and technological development.
