NASENI Unveils Innovative Ideas to Drive Nigeria’s Technology, Economic Transformation
The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is intensifying efforts to identify and support innovative minds capable of developing solutions with significant national impact.
The initiative, driven by NASENI’s innovation vision, seeks to identify promising innovators within the agency and across Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), while providing commercially viable ideas with pathways towards development, investment and market adoption.
Speaking at the Final Pitching Exercise, NASENI Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Khalil Halilu, said the exercise provided an opportunity to witness firsthand the quality of ideas emerging from Nigeria’s public institutions and the innovators behind them.
He noted that the initiative reflects NASENI’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem by ensuring that promising ideas do not remain at the conceptual stage but are transformed into practical solutions, businesses and sustainable impact.
According to him, supporting innovation requires creating clear pathways through which creative ideas can move from concept to solution, enterprise and national value.
The assessment is expected to provide promising innovators with opportunities to further develop their ideas, attract support and contribute to solving some of Nigeria’s developmental challenges.
NASENI reaffirmed its commitment to building an innovation-driven economy by supporting homegrown technology, encouraging creativity within public institutions and promoting solutions capable of improving lives and strengthening Nigeria’s competitiveness.
The initiative underscores the agency’s broader vision of positioning science, technology and innovation as key drivers of Nigeria’s economic transformation.
