Ned Nwoko Appeals for Public Restraint as Regina Daniels Battles Health Challenges
By Matthew Eloyi
Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to fans, bloggers and social media commentators to give his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, space to recover from her health challenges, warning against the circulation of false reports about her personal life.
Nwoko, who made the appeal in a Facebook post, said Daniels had been through a difficult period and needed love, understanding and support rather than public criticism and speculation.
He said the appeal was also necessary for the sake of their children, who, according to him, are well cared for and deserve to see their mother receive the support and opportunity needed to recover.
The senator noted that a video Daniels shared on her birthday had offered the public a glimpse into some of the health challenges she had been experiencing.
According to him, her current situation calls for compassion rather than judgment, stressing that people should refrain from actions capable of worsening her circumstances.
“As someone who knows what she has been through, I can tell you that this is not a time to judge, vilify or add to her burdens. It is a time to show compassion and allow her the opportunity to heal,” he said.
Nwoko added that despite the difficulties in their relationship, Daniels’ well-being remained important to him, noting that concerns about her welfare were among the issues that brought aspects of their private affairs into the public domain.
He expressed particular concern over the circulation of what he described as false and disturbing reports about the actress, including fabricated death announcements, misleading health reports and other hurtful publications.
The lawmaker said such content was not harmless social media engagement, noting that Daniels was aware of many of the publications and found them deeply distressing.
He urged her fans and supporters to discourage the spread of misinformation rather than amplify sensational reports for online attention and engagement.
Nwoko also issued a stern warning to individuals allegedly responsible for fabricating stories about the actress, particularly reports concerning her death, health and personal circumstances.
He disclosed that the publications were being documented and warned that those found responsible would face legal action through appropriate channels.
“Those hiding behind social media accounts to invent stories, mislead the public and exploit her situation for clicks and engagement should stop immediately,” he warned.
The senator maintained that Daniels deserved the opportunity to focus on her recovery without being subjected to recurring fabricated reports and unnecessary public scrutiny.
