Niger Set to Flag Off ₦1.5tn Reconstruction, Dualisation of Lambata–Kontagora Highway
The Niger State Government is set to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction and dualisation of the Lambata–Bida–Mokwa–Makera–Kontagora Federal Highway following the Federal Government’s approval of ₦1.5 trillion for the project.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 12:00 noon in Bida, Niger State.
The project is expected to improve road connectivity, facilitate movement of people and goods, and support economic activities across communities along the highway.
The ceremony will be attended by the Executive Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago; Chairman of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Chairman of Hi-Tech Construction; Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi; and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi.
The reconstruction and dualisation of the highway is expected to strengthen transportation links within Niger State and enhance connectivity with other parts of the country.
