Niger State Signs N121bn MoU with NAPL for Mega Market in Suleja
The Niger State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Army Properties Limited (NAPL) for the construction of a N121 billion ultra-modern market in Suleja, headquarters of Suleja Local Government Area.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the state government by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Emmanuel Umar. Representing NAPL were its Vice Chairman, Lamidi Adeosun (rtd), Group Managing Director, Isah Doma, and Company Secretary, Barrister Ahmad Belel Ismaila.
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, described the agreement as a milestone in the history of the state. He said the proposed market is expected to be the largest in Northern Nigeria upon completion.
Governor Bago noted that the project has the potential to generate between N500 million and N1 trillion in economic activities, adding that it will further strengthen Suleja’s longstanding role as a commercial hub supporting trade and business activities in Abuja and its environs.
According to the governor, partnering with NAPL is a strategic move to harness the economic significance of the project, which he said will boost the socio-economic profile of the state.
In his remarks, the Group Managing Director of NAPL, Brig. Gen. Isah Doma, described the agreement as a rare privilege for the company to collaborate with Niger State and contribute to its development drive.
He expressed appreciation for the opportunity and assured that NAPL would deliver the project as agreed, pledging not to take the confidence reposed in the company for granted.
