Nigeria, China Deepen Economic Cooperation as Dambazau Visits SINOMA Headquarters
Nigeria and China have taken another step towards strengthening bilateral economic cooperation as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Ambassador Abdulrahman Dambazau, paid a strategic visit to the Beijing headquarters of SINOMA International Engineering Co., Ltd.
The visit, undertaken at the invitation of the company, forms part of Ambassador Dambazau’s ongoing efforts to promote Nigeria’s economic diplomacy, attract strategic investments and deepen bilateral partnerships between both countries.
During the visit, the ambassador toured SINOMA’s state-of-the-art exhibition centre before holding high-level discussions with the company’s management on expanding cooperation in key sectors considered critical to Nigeria’s economic transformation.
The meeting acknowledged SINOMA’s long-standing operations in Nigeria since 2008, highlighting the company’s contributions to the country’s industrial growth through partnerships with Dangote Cement, BUA Group and Mangal Cement, as well as its involvement in the Dangote Refinery, power generation projects and lithium mining initiatives.
Both parties explored new areas of collaboration, particularly in renewable energy, including solar and wind power development, in support of Nigeria’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
The discussions also focused on strengthening research and development partnerships between SINOMA and Nigerian universities and research institutions to promote innovation, technology transfer, skills development and capacity building.
Ambassador Dambazau reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for strategic investments that will accelerate industrialisation, infrastructure development, clean energy adoption and human capital development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He noted that attracting technology-driven investments and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships remain central to Nigeria’s foreign policy and economic development objectives.
The engagement underscores the Nigerian Embassy’s continued efforts to strengthen economic relations with China while promoting investment opportunities capable of delivering sustainable economic growth, job creation and long-term development for Nigeria.
