The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has set a revenue target of N11.074 trillion for the 2026 fiscal year, following its record-breaking performance in 2025 when it surpassed its revenue target by 10.24 per cent.

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed this on Monday while defending the Service’s 2025 budget performance and presenting its 2026 revenue and expenditure estimates before the Senate Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff, chaired by Senator Isah Jibrin.

Adeniyi said the new revenue projection reflects the Service’s confidence in sustaining its improved performance through enhanced trade facilitation, stronger revenue collection strategies, and ongoing reforms aimed at boosting efficiency across customs operations.

He noted that the impressive 2025 revenue performance has positioned the Service to pursue a more ambitious target in 2026 as part of efforts to support the Federal Government’s fiscal objectives.

The Customs boss also briefed lawmakers on the agency’s budget implementation, operational achievements, and plans for the coming fiscal year during the budget defence session before the Senate committee.
