Nigeria, Finland Explore Stronger Cooperation in Trade, Digitalisation, Renewable Energy
The Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Doris Anite-Uzoka, has received the Ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, Her Excellency Sanna Selin, for discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between both countries.
The meeting was held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja and focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in key sectors capable of driving sustainable economic growth.
According to the Minister, discussions centred on expanding trade relations, promoting technological innovation, including information and communication technology and digitalisation, developing renewable energy, and strengthening human capital.
Dr Anite-Uzoka said the engagements aligned with the objectives of Nigeria Agenda 2050, which seeks to build a diversified, resilient and competitive economy.
She noted that strategic partnerships with countries such as Finland remained important to achieving Nigeria’s long-term development goals.
The Minister expressed optimism that the discussions would lead to impactful opportunities and stronger cooperation between Nigeria and Finland in areas of mutual interest.
She added that the Federal Government remained committed to building partnerships capable of supporting sustainable growth, innovation and national development.
