Nigeria Hosts Togo President Ahead of ECOWAS Security Meeting

The Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), received the President of the Republic of Togo, His Excellency Jean-Lucien Savi de Tové, in Abuja today ahead of the upcoming ECOWAS meeting.

The high-level engagement focused on ongoing regional security challenges and explored ways to strengthen multilateral security cooperation among ECOWAS member states in West Africa.

Speaking during the meeting, Defence Minister Musa emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to combat cross-border threats, including terrorism, organized crime, and other security concerns that affect the stability of the subregion.

Both leaders expressed commitment to ensuring that the forthcoming ECOWAS summit provides a platform for actionable strategies aimed at maintaining peace and security across member states.

The meeting marks another step in Nigeria’s role as a key security partner within ECOWAS, reinforcing the nation’s dedication to regional stability and collaborative defence initiatives.
