Nigeria to increase collaboration with Qatar in mining, agric, oil, gas
By Matthew Eloyi
The Ambassador of Nigeria to the State of Qatar, Yakubu Ahmed, has said that Nigeria would increase collaboration with Qatar in the areas of mining, Agriculture, oil and gas, and infrastructural development.
According to Ahmed, this informed his strategic engagements upon assumption of duty with relevant top Government functionaries and captains of industries to actualize his mandate.
The envoy, who stated this in a message wishing the Government and people of Nigeria happy 61st Independence on Friday, therefore, called on Qatari nationals and other potential investors to take advantage of the vast investment opportunities in Nigeria.
In his words, “This is because the Nigerian Government has deliberately designed incentives in line with global best practices in ease of doing business that guarantees a return on investment.
“While some of these incentives are in the form of tax holidays, exemptions, and reliefs, there are many more that leverage specific government policies, the performance of the companies as well as relevant international investment treaties.”
According to a statement issued by the Nigerian Embassy in Doha, Ahmed in his Independence Day message described Nigeria as a unique nation blessed with abundant human and natural resources that have continued to provide leadership at the global stage.
He called on Nigerians to demonstrate love, peace and unity in their resolve to take the country to greater heights.
